IPID is looking for committee members, due Sept 29

Are you looking for a way to get involved with IPID? We are accepting applications for several committee positions, which are described below. Any questions can be directed to and applications are due to by Tuesday, September 29 by 5:00 pm. Application instructions are below.
IPID Fall 2015 Committee Descriptions
Finance Committee (1 member)- Chair: Camilo Penuela
  • Help maintain IPID general ledger and monitor financial transactions for the organization
  • Prepare application and materials for the Student Services Funding Application

Expected time commitment: 1-2 h/week *
This position is very useful for persons who want to acquire more knowledge on the process of building budgets for student groups at the University.
* Workload may increase to 2-4 h/week for selected weeks at the end of the current year and beginning of 2016.

Programming Committee (2 members)- Chair: Maria Victoria (Mavic) Punay
  • Plan and organize activities, lectures, talks, and general assemblies
  • Help bring in innovative ideas to carry out more effective development-focused activities within the University
Expected time commitment: 1-2 hours per week (possibly more during the week of an event)
This position is useful for those who wish to gain program/event management experience and enrich their familiarity in development work through networking (lecturers, fellow students, etc.).

Communications Committee (1-2 members)- Chair: Felipe Barroso
  • Design a communications strategy to increase the organization’s outreach across the University of Minnesota
  • Help create a process for video recording events and establish a platform for the recordings
  • Support Communications Chair in maintaining IPID’s media outlets up to date
  • Perform outreach to different schools, departments, student groups, and community organizations and institutions  that are interested in a facet of international development to collaborate on programming, events, and marketing
Expected time commitment: 1-2 h/week *
* Workload may slightly increase during event weeks.
