Nov 18 Free talk on India at Hennepin Co Library

Global Conversations: India Changes Course
Wednesday, November 18, 5:30 - 7:30 pm, Hennepin County Library

Fed up with corruption, dynastic policies and ineffective public services, Indian voters catapulted Narenda Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party to power in the country's 2014 elections. For voters, Modi embodied real change and an India that wasn't stumbling, but running, to greatness. But for the U.S., change in India brings a long set of unknowns. On November 18, Dr. Arijit Mazumdar, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of St. Thomas, will lead a conversation on how India has sought to assert itself on the world stage.
