Dec 07, Skate for Syria Charity Event

Recent images of Syrian refugees have surfaced and caught the world’s attention. These images show the tragedy and despair that many Syrians are facing as they try to leave their war-torn country in search of a safer place for their families. The Syrian crisis is said to be the worst humanitarian crisis of our time. There are currently 4 million Syrian refugees, of which 50% are children. Most of these children are malnourished and don’t have access to education. The U.N. has estimated that more than $8.4 billion dollars are needed to provide for those affected by the crisis.

We are organizing an ice skating charity event on December 7th to raise money for our Syrian brothers and sisters. This will be your opportunity to come have fun and raise money for a good cause.

Admissions fee will be $15. University of Minnesota students can purchase their tickets at a discounted rate of $10.
The ticket price includes skate rental but guests are welcome to bring their own skates.

The money raised from this event will be donated to the Syrian Kids Foundation. You can find out more about this great organization at :http://syriankids.ca/

We will be selling tickets in Coffman Memorial Union and various other events taking place in the Twin Cities in the next couple of weeks. You can contact any SJP member (or send a message to this page) if you are interested in buying. We will also be selling tickets at the door.
