International Conference on One Medicine One Science (iCOMOS) at the University of Minnesota April 24–27, 2016.

2nd International Conference on One Medicine One Science (iCOMOS 2016) at the Commons Hotel on the University of Minnesota Minneapolis campus April 24–27, 2016.
iCOMOS is a global forum to communicate the importance of science in solving pressing health issues at the interface of humans, animals, and the environment.

How do we balance the needs for personalized/precision health care with the public health programs serving communities—especially in the context of environmental pollution and climate change? Given a fixed set of resources, maximizing the potential of both is challenging, indeed.
Join the discussion at the International Conference on One Medicine One Science (iCOMOS) at the University of Minnesota April 24–27, 2016.

This subject is just one of the focus areas at the conference. The scientific complexities of individual and population health are examined by such experts as:
  • Susan M. Wolf, JD Professor of Law, Professor of Medicine, University of Minnesota presents ethical challenges of translating genomic research into public health benefit
  • Arthur Caplan, PhD New York University Professor of Bioethics discusses the ethics of personalized medicine versus public health
  • Elaine Ostrander, PhD NIH Distinguished Investigator presents the science advancing personalized medicine in humans and canines
  • Mark Feinberg, MD PhD President of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative explores the global opportunities and challenges facing vaccine
Adam Berger, PhD Senior Fellow, U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services will present the President’s Precision Medicine Initiative that will guide future health care
