Minnesota NGO publishes report on corruption in Somalia

Legacy Center for Peace and Transparency Corruption in Somalia Report

The Legacy Center for Peace & Transparency is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit research organization dedicated to fighting corruption, building peace, and democratic society in Somalia. They have just released a report entitled "Overview of Corruption, Underlying Causes, and its Impacts in Somalia." Read on for the full report.

The report contains a detailed overview of the background of corruption in Somalia (history, economy, government and rule of law) followed by a discussion of the corruption apexes (financial, security, private, and political sectors) and the impacts of corruption. The final section proposes six recommendations that will lead to the reduction of government corruption.
