Terrorism, ISIS, and Shariah: Or Is There More to Islam Than That?
In this talk, Dr. Yasir Qadhi, assistant professor of Religious Studies at Rhodes College and Dean of Academic Affairs at AlMaghrib Institute, will offer his perspectives on the challenges of being an American Muslim, including his views on misconceptions and stereotypes that impact perceptions about the Muslim community in the United States.

Dr. Yasir Qadhi was born in Houston, TX. After completing a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Houston, he spent the next 10 years of his life at the Islamic University in Saudi Arabia, where he graduated with bachelor's and master's degrees in Islamic Studies. He then returned to America to complete a PhD from Yale in Islamic Studies.
