The Capacity-Building Fellow will support the implementation of the Raise Your Voice program and report directly to the Deputy Director.
This fellowship is unpaid.
Description Of Tasks
The Capacity Building Fellow will support the Executive Director and Deputy Director in ensuring that Women Thrive’s capacity-building process is learner-centered, responsive, and engaging for members. The Fellow’s tasks and responsibilities include:
50%: Contribute to the development and facilitation of online courses:
Contribute to the development of course learning materials and course structure
Communicate with course participants, gather feedback, and manage database of participants before, during, and after active courses
Facilitate online discussions with participants, answer questions, and provide feedback on activities
Analyze and synthesize feedback and data to evaluate learning and program outcomes
30%: Contribute to the development of new capacity-building resources:
Communicate with members to identify individual organizations’ capacity-building needs and network-wide priorities
Research and draft new capacity-building resources such as: videos, factsheets, toolkits, worksheets, case studies, or reports
Distribute new capacity-building resources to members and collect and analyse feedback
10%: Managing the Alliance Online’s capacity-building content:
Update the site with new capacity-building resources and ensure proper tagging and organization of all postings
Regularly facilitate and encourage discussion and sharing on active online course homepages
Message members about new resources on a regular basis
10%: Other tasks:
Write monthly blogs for the Women Thrive website on issues related to capacity-building, learning, and gender equality.
Support social media campaigns and coordinate with members when needed.
Represent Women Thrive at events, meetings, and workshops related to capacity-building/training/gender/etc. when needed.
Update and maintain quote/story bank related to members’ capacity-building needs, priorities, and participation.
Contribute to proposal and collateral writing and editing as needed.
Preferred Skills And Experience
Experience with gender-responsive training and curriculum development. Experience with online learning facilitation highly encouraged.
Experience working with grassroots Global South organizations.
Understanding of policy advocacy, the Sustainable Development Goals, community organizing, and/or social and behavioural change communication.
Experience in gender analysis and working on gender issues in the international development context.
Collaborative work-style, superior organizational skills, and ability to multitask efficiently.
Strong verbal, written, and intercultural communication skills. Must be fluent in English. French is a plus.
Ability to create engaging, easy to understand learning resources.
Good computer skills, particularly in MS Office programs. Familiarity with Facebook, NING, and other social platforms is a plus. Familiarity with Photoshop, Piktochart, or other graphic design tools is a plus.
