MPP Fonseca Sarmiento wins Mestenhauser Student Award

Our very own Camila Fonseca Sarmiento (front row, second from left) was recently awarded the 2017 Mestenhauser Student Award due to her involvement in many different activities that promote Campus Internationalization. Notable is her work as vice-president of the Humphrey International Students' Association (HISA), starting a Spanish Conversation Group with a Humphrey Fellow, Juan Camilo Molina from Ecuador, and the fundraising event after an earthquake in Ecuador, among others.

Camila is an international student from Colombia, currently completing the second year of the Master in Public Policy at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Before coming to the University of Minnesota, Camila worked for the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC.

She has also been involved academically working with Professor Jerry Zhao on projects with the Volcker Alliance and the City of Saint Paul. The latter in funding the Stormwater Management of the City.
