Professor Jodi Sandfort, Innovation Manager Jen Mein, and FSI Director Sook Jin Ong spent three days at the Art of Harvesting Practitioners' Gathering in Halifax, Canada, to deepen their practice with world-renowned Art of Hosting practitioners. This three-day convening gave them a new perspective on how to incorporate harvesting, evaluation, and research as an integral part of designing, conducting and supporting systems change efforts. Oftentimes, these practices are seen as part of the post-process. An emergent learning from this community is the necessity of harvesting, developmental evaluation, and research as conduits to action that compels change, and to have change efforts designed with the harvest in mind. Our favorite takeaway was to "design and plan for the harvest".
