IIE Call for Papers Fall 2017: Advising International Students on Navigating Uncertain Times

Call for Papers: IIENetworker Fall 2017 Issue: Advising International Students, Campus Leaders and Senior International Officers on How to Navigate these Uncertain Times

DEADLINE: June 27th

As campuses work with their admitted international students this summer, finalize orientation plans, and review their outreach and recruitment activities for the year ahead, it is a good time to take a look at what we can all do to make students feel safe and welcome in the United States. We are looking to feature unique and innovative efforts from around the country to show how campuses and institutions are keeping their doors open to international students.

The purpose of this issue of the IIENetworker magazine is to delve deeper into the ever-evolving landscape of connecting with students and their families in the context of new technologies and the need for personal interaction in challenging times. As we look to submissions for the upcoming issue, please consider some of the following topics:
Best practices in helping students prepare for visa and travel needs
Use of new and innovative platforms & programs to make students feel welcome on campus
New ways to connect with students and families in their home countries
Changes and updates to your orientation, student services or peer and community engagement activities If you are interested in submitting an article for the fall 2017 issue of IIENetworker please let us know as soon as possible. Submissions are due by June 27, 2017 and should be between 1000 and 1500 words. Address all inquiries to Mike Corrado at MCorrado@iie.org and for more information on IIENetworker, please visit: www.iie.org/iienetworker.
