UMN Welcomes New International Students & Scholars Arriving on Campus

New International Students and Scholars Arriving on Campus

This month, more than 1,500 new international students are arriving and settling in for the academic year. Hundreds more scholars and researchers from around the world will arrive throughout the fall semester. Each of these individuals brings new perspectives and experiences to our university and a strong motivation to learn and succeed. We are fortunate that they have chosen the University of Minnesota, and now, more than ever, we must make sure international students and scholars know they are an important part of our community.

We hope you will join us in welcoming them all to campus.

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), the Global Programs and Strategy (GPS) Alliance, and others on campus have resources to help you and your colleagues work effectively with international students inside and outside the classroom, including:

* ISSS Training and Resources for Departments and Advisors (https://isss.umn.edu/)
* The Culture Corps program (https://isss.umn.edu/programs/culturecorps/aboutcc-staff.html) encourages international students to share their perspectives with the campus community.
* Internationalizing Teaching and Learning (https://global.umn.edu/icc/itl/index.html) support for faculty.
* Academic Resources for International Students (https://sites.google.com/a/umn.edu/academic-resources-for-intl-students/) .
