MDP collaboration with Rainforest Alliance in Guatemala

In September CINRAM Director and MDP faculty member Dean Current and Ph.d. candidate Megan Butler (MDP 2015) attended an event in Northern Guatemala hosted by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), in collaboration with Bioversity International and the Association of forestry communities of Petén (ACOFOP).

The goals of the two-day meeting, which included researchers as well as representatives from local forest communities, government agencies, and NGOs, were to discuss research related to community forestry concessions in the Petén and to promote productive policy dialogue. Presentations from the event can be found at the following link: https://www.cifor.org/event/research-and-policy-around-community-forest-concessions-in-peten-progress-lessons-and-pending-challenges/
