Humphrey alum Mukhtar appointed DPO, Punjab Police

Congratulations to 2016-17 Humphrey International Fellow at the Humphrey School, Mr. Faisal Mukhtar, who was appointed District Police Officer of Mandi Bahuddin, Punjab Police, Pakistan.

Before coming the the Humphrey School, Mr. Mukhtar was the Superintendent of Police (Operations) at Capital City Police in Lahore, Pakistan. He previously served as the police detective responsible for supervising and coordinating the investigation of criminal cases and ensuring that procedures were conducted in accordance with laws and regulations. Mr. Mukhtar has extensive experience with the policing of areas targeted by militant groups, having been previously posted to the most fragile and volatile region of Pakistan. Over the course of his career he has been involved in initiatives promoting community policing, establishment of women complaint centers, employment of modern investigation techniques and the setup of mobile forensics labs.  Mr. Mukhtar holds a Bachelor degree in computer science, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Quaid-I-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan.
