MPA alum Clancy new Director of Global Education, St. Benedict & St. John's Univ.

Kevin Clancy will be leaving CGI and the Carlson School for a new position as Director of the Center for Global Education at the College of St. Benedict and St. John's University.

The Center for Global Education (CGE) operates 19 semester programs (15 of which are led by faculty) and also assists faculty and staff in developing and managing short-term global programs. CGE is the primary point of contact for institutional partners from around the world, and it manages inbound global programs for partner institutions throughout the year. In addition, CGE sponsors and co-sponsors on-campus global learning opportunities (e.g., speakers, lectures, presentations and fine arts events). Kevin will lead a team of six who are responsible for facilitation of both inbound and outbound programs. He also will provide leadership in directing and implementing strategic internationalization plans both on and off campus. One interesting reference point is that St. John's is Kevin's undergraduate alma mater.

More than five years ago, Kevin joined the CGI team as Associate Program Director working with the Global Business Practicum, MILI and other Carlson faculty-led education abroad programs as well as supporting external engagement work of the Institute. Most recently, he has served as the Program Director for Strategic Initiatives and Engagement & the Global Business Practicum program, overseeing the Global Business Practicum portfolio and driving CGI Advisory Council and campaign communications, Global Matters speaker and video series, corporate and alumni engagement across CGI, and other strategic initiatives of the Institute. In his time with us, Kevin has cultivated strong relationships with Carlson and overseas faculty, MBA and undergraduate students, corporate sponsors, alumni, and advisory council members. Also, he has successfully integrated cultural competence and mindfulness into his programs, studies, and leadership. His diplomacy, professionalism, and ability to collaborate far and wide will greatly be missed.
