We invite you to attend the Government & Nonprofit Career Fair! This is a great opportunity to gain in-person access to representatives from over 85 government and nonprofit agencies. There are full-time and internship openings for all degrees.

University of Minnesota students and alumni do not need to pre-register. Simply bring your U-Card to check-in onsite.To be most successful at the fair, research the employers and positions available ahead of time, strategize about who you'd like to talk to, and bring copies of your resume.

10:15 a.m.- NP 101: Intro to Careers in Nonprofits
What is a nonprofit organization anyway? Will I get paid enough if I work at one? How do nonprofits stay in business? What types of jobs are available? What is the best way to get my foot in the door? These topics and others will be discussed at this session.

11:30 a.m. - Professionals in Government: City, County, State and Federal Jobs
Have you ever wondered how people successfully make the transition from college student to government professional? An eclectic panel of individuals from city, county, state, & federal government will discuss their current positions, and the variety of paths taken to arrive there.

1:00 p.m. - Keynote: From Miami to Managua to Minnesota: Navigating a Global Passion
JB Scherpelz is the Corporate Relations Officer for Global Minnesota in addition to serving as President of the Minnesota International NGO Network (MINN), a nonprofit focused on connecting international practitioners and organizations within the state of Minnesota. JB holds a Masters in international development and a certificate in nonprofit management from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
