UMN Funds to bring visiting scholars from China

Sping Lin and Ngoh T. Lin China Center Visiting Scholars Initiative

Dr. Sping Lin established the Sping Lin and Ying-Ngoh T. Lin China Center Visiting Scholars Initiative to increase opportunities for visiting Chinese scholars to come to the University of Minnesota. This initiative offers funding to assist in bringing visiting scholars to the University of Minnesota to help strengthen academic exchange and research and extend the impact of mutual collaborations with China to the greater University of Minnesota campus and community. Faculty and staff members from all campus departments are encouraged to apply!

Dr. Lin is a University of Minnesota alumnus, receiving his Master of Science (1950) and a doctoral degree in entomology (1952). He went on to have a successful career holding professorships in the Division of Neurology at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Lin was also recognized as a recipient of the "University of Minnesota Distinguished Chinese Alumni Award." Learn more about this initiative and how to apply on the China Center Website.

-How the collaboration between this visiting scholar and your department will contribute to building on existing UMN institutional partnerships, sustain and enhance future activities between UMN and China, advance strategic international goals, and/or reflect the Grand Challenges initiative.
