MEOC Scholarships for Intensive Intermediate Arabic Study in Summer

Our intensive summer Arabic program, which will run this year from June 11 through August 17, offers two semesters worth of Arabic at the Beginner and Intermediate levels. Registration for the 1-week summer program opens on March, 1 for current University of Minnesota students. Students with an interest in or questions about the summer Arabic program are encouraged to attend our Summer Arabic info session on Thursday, February 22 at 6:30 pm in Ford Hall 110 (Please note the room change -- no longer Ford 151). The info session is followed by an optional Arabic drama workshop for those wishing to participate in the production of this summer's Arabic play.

For current, full-time undergraduate students enrolled in CLA, three $2,500 Middle East Outreach Consortium scholarships are available to study intensive Intermediate Arabic at the U of M summer Arabic program. Information about the scholarships is attached, as well as an application form.

Completed applications are due by Monday, March 5 at 12:00 noon. They can be submitted in hard copy to the Department of Asian Languages & Literatures Main Office (Folwell 220), or by email to kvanpee@umn.edu. Recommenders are requested to email their letter of recommendation on behalf of applicants directly to kvanpee@umn.edu. Award recipients are announced by the end of March.
