Explore the critical role of public engagement in addressing society's most pressing issues at "Advancing Publicly-Engaged Research, Teaching, and Learning to Address Society's Grand Challenges," a University of Minnesota system-wide conference on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Coffman Memorial Union on the University's Minneapolis campus.
The day kicks off with a plenary panel discussion with scholars and community members associated with the University's Grand Challenges Research Initiatives who will share their thoughts and experiences on funding partnerships, project sustainability, and strategies for managing broad-scope, interdisciplinary projects. More than 80 concurrent sessions throughout the day will showcase the University's most innovative publicly-engaged research and teaching practices through presentations, workshops, roundtable discussions, exhibits, and live performances.

The University's 2018 Outstanding Community Service Awards winners will be announced during lunch with comments from special guest University of Minnesota Executive Vice President and Provost Karen Hanson. The conference will conclude with a number of networking opportunities including a social hour hosted by members of the University's Community-Campus Liaison's Council at the University's Campus Club.

Conference registration before Monday, February 26 is $35 for faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners; free for University of Minnesota students. Late and walk-in registration is $70 for faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners; $30 for University of Minnesota students.
