Forward Global Women, Program Manager position

Forward Global Women is a nonprofit organization that fosters and nurtures the development and growth of women leaders to become active peacemakers promoting co-existence.  FGW convenes and trains women leaders in political and civic life from the MENA countries of Jordan, Palestine, Israel, Tunisia, Egypt, and Morocco, along with USA women.  Past convenings have been held in Berlin, Germany and in Minnesota, USA. Program Manager

Position Function:  Support the work of Forward Global Women to increase the organization’s capacity for outreach and civic engagement.  The Manager will provide implementation of the organizational goals and strategies and will assist the President, Co-Presidents, and the Board of Directors.
Position Description:  Assist in all areas of program support and operations as needed, including:
·      Manage annual global convenings of women leaders from MENA countries and the US for discussion and training on women’s involvement in peace-building:
o   Facilitate travel and accommodations for participants at annual convening
o   Assist in organizing meeting sessions and relevant materials for participants
o   Assist in planning, promoting, and managing public events
o   Organize and coordinate volunteers to assist with convening 
·      Direct public relations and communication
o   Produce and disseminate print and online media
o   Manage website and social media networks
o   Maintain communication with participants to support relevant work throughout the year
o   Compile and disseminate program reports, online newsletters, and other relevant publications
·      Maintain financial reporting and accounting
·      Provide fundraising support, including special event planning, grant solicitations, and donor relations
·      Assist with other communication, event coordination, and administrative duties as needed
Status: This is a part-time, semi-remote position, subject to termination at will.  The compensation does not include health or other benefits. The Manager is expected to commit 5-10 hours weekly during the year, all of which will be fulfilled remotely, with regular check-in calls or meetings with the President. During the convening (one week in summer), the Manager must be available and present during all session hours. Decisions are to be made with review by the President unless otherwise specified.
Salary range: $15-20/hour during the year; $1,000-1,200 during the convening.
Review: Performance reviews will be conducted annually by the President and Co-Presidents.
Reporting:  The Manager reports to the President of Forward Global Women and, as appropriate, to the Co-Presidents and the Board of Directors.
Required skills, knowledge, and experience: 
·      Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimum supervision
·      Computer skill with word-processing, spreadsheets, web updates, and research
·      Outstanding written and oral communication skills
·      Understanding of basic accounting and financial reporting
·      Demonstrated project management skills
·      Flexibility in work hours to include evening and weekend activities, as well as the week-long convening
Desired qualifications: 
·      Background in women’s rights, peace studies, international studies, and/or human rights
·      Interest or experience in the Middle East and North African countries
·      Ability to interact with diverse groups
Other:  A valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and access to a car is required.  
Minimum education:  BA degree
