Film Screening Tonight: Cambodian Refugee Deportations

At the University tonight (Thursday) from 5:30-8:00 pm, Cowles Auditorium, Humphrey School of Public Affairs there will be a screening of "Sentenced Home", a film that follows three young Cambodian Americans through the deportation process. The event is free and open to the public. Food and beverages provided.

Thousands of individuals are currently awaiting deportation including several Minnesota Cambodian refugees who were detained this past summer. A discussion with the Center for New Americans and family members of those detained will follow the screening.

Event is hosted by the Cambodian Student Association of Minnesota and Minnesota Immigration Rights Action Committee. Co-sponsored by Center for New Americans, Immigration History Research Center, College of Education & Human Development
