If you'll be in or near St. Paul on Monday, December 12, join the Minnesota Literacy Council for a special event: An Evening of Cambodian Arts and Culture.
Minnesota currently has the fifth largest community of Cambodians in the United States. Join us for an evening of learning about this country, as we explore arts and culture of Cambodia.
Their special guest Mr. Hoeun Hach, of International Khmer Assembly and the Khmer Legacy Museum, will guide us through this multi-sensory session. After introductions, we’ll view a short documentary film about Vann Molyvann—a prolific Cambodian architect and father of the New Khmer Architecture movement—followed by Q&A about the film. Following the film, Mr. Hoeun will share examples of Khmer arts and culture and discuss the influence of Cambodia’s history on arts and culture. The event will end with information about the newly-opened Khmer Legacy Museum in St. Paul.
