Professor Christina Ewig was invited to Chile in October to participate in a special workshop convened to launch the Network of Comparative Policy Research in Latin America [http://www.polsoc.org]. This network involves scholars working from different disciplines, approaches, historical periods, policy sectors, and countries. Invited speakers at the workshop analyzed the recent evolution of social policy in Latin America, new disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches, conceptual and empirical voids, and agenda for future research. Professor Ewig’s presentation focused on recent advances and future challenges for gender equity in health and pension sectors in Latin America.
