Partners of the Americas, the U.S. Department of State and NAFSA: Association of International Educators are pleased to announce a new grant competition as part of Barack Obama’s 100,000 Strong in the Americas Initiative. Competition #15 is made possible through a generous contribution from Colombia's Department of Science, Technology and Innovation - COLCIENCIAS, the City of Medellin's Higher Education Agency, Sapiencia, with support from the U.S. Department of State through the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá.

The Nexo Global Colombia competition aims to support Colombian and U.S. higher education institutions (HEIs) in creating sustainable research networks, developing strategic partnerships, internationalizing and strengthening sustainable alliances through innovative proposals that include internships and/or research stays and that promote scientific training of students through the international mobility.

The competition is open to all HEIs in Colombia and the U.S. that seek to promote the mobility of undergraduate students from Colombia to the U.S. and the mobility of both undergraduate and graduate students from the U.S. to Colombia in the fields of STEM, Agricultural Sciences, and Social Sciences with a focus on post-conflict resolution and peace building.

The competition will award up to at least five grants of up to $40,000 each across to institutions in Colombia and the U.S. Due to the generous support of Sapiencia, up to two Innovation Grants will be awarded to HEIs in Medellin, Colombia.
