Visiting Scholar Yuanchao HU researching environmental impact of food system 
Humphrey School Visiting International Scholar Yuanchao Hu joined Prof. Anu Ramaswami’s research group in March 2017. He studies the environmental impact of food systems with Humphrey focusing on the environmental impact of food consumption sites on production sites by considering water, GHG and nutrients in China.
Yuanchao Hu is a Ph.D. student from the Institute of Urban Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, based in Xiamen, China, and working under supervision of Prof Shenghui Cui. He received his Bachelor degree from Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, majoring in urban and rural planning and environment and resource management. His research interest lies in sustainable food systems, sustainable urbanization, climate change and system thinking. The techniques may include input-output analysis, life-cycle analysis, material flow analysis and other useful, developing methods.
