Nonviolent Conflict Resolution

Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organization. We work to reduce violence and protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath.

NP is in the process of setting up protection programming in Iraq as part of the humanitarian response to the impact of the Mosul offensive. Due to the need for expediency, we are conducting preliminary recruiting while waiting for funding confirmation. Applicants should be prepared for rapid deployment.

We are seeking a Programme Development Officer (PDO) to become a member of the start-up team based in Erbil. The PDO will work closely with the Head of Mission to manage existing donor grants, to develop newly funded projects as components of the overall country programme strategy. The PDO will work to develop and maintain donor relationships, be responsible for all stages of grants management, proposal development and will contribute to producing external communication pieces.

The successful candidate will be a motivated, proactive self-starter with an entrepreneurial sprit. H/she will be excited to be involved with building something from the ground up and be willing to wear “many hats” as part of the process.

The successful candidate will have at least five (2) years experience working with an INGO in a programme development position. The PDO will have previous experience working in a complex and dynamic operational environment, strong analytical and communication skills and an understanding of and commitment to Nonviolent Peaceforce’s mission in Iraq.

This post is based in Erbil, South Iraq with potential travel to field locations.
