HHH Prof. Zhao speech highlighted urgent issues in urban infrastructure finance in US & China

In the summer of 2017, Professor Jerry Zhao visited the Chinese Academy of Fiscal Sciences (CAFS) in Beijing. On June 28, he was invited to deliver a keynote speech in the Academy's "New Knowledge Forum,” a high-level talk series to feature key policy makers and leading scholars of public finance in China. In the speech he presented a theoretical framework for analyzing urban infrastructure finance, and shared his research and comments about urgent issues in urban infrastructure finance both in China and the United States.

In the same trip to Beijing, Professor Zhao visited the Central University of Finance and Economics, where he co-organized an international conference on “Urban Infrastructure Finance and Public-Private Partnerships.” He also visited the Capital University of Economics and Trade in Beijing to discuss a possible collaboration to recruit the best students from their Public Affairs International Program to the MPP program in the Humphrey School.
