Humphrey School welcomes alum and new Ph.D. candidate Ms. Mikki Cookle. Ms. Cookle's faculty advisor is Professor Ragui Assaad and her areas of expertise are in quantitative approaches to international policy analysis, development economics, econometrics and demography; geographic focus on the Middle East and North Africa.
Mikki Cookle completed her BA in International Relations and History at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2011 and came back in 2015 to the Humphrey School of Public Affairs for the Master in Public Policy (MPP) program. After spending time working with refugee communities both in the Middle East and in Minnesota, Mikki developed a passion for increasing the effectiveness of multilateral post-conflict reconstruction efforts. Her PhD will be focused on building research skills in econometric and demographic methods, with an emphasis on economic development in post-conflict communities in the Middle East.
