Handicap International (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. We work alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, taking action and bearing witness in order to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights

Handicap International has been working in China since 1998. Our objective is to improve the socio-economic inclusion of people with disabilities, especially in rural areas, trough pilot projects run in close cooperation with governmental partners, civil society and associations of people with disabilities.

HI is inviting applications from qualified professionals for the following position:
Operational Coordinator (OC) -1

Job profile: Under the direct line management of Country Director, the Operational Coordinator will be responsible in developing the network of HI within the Chinese Government and academic institutions, as well as with the private sectors, foundations and civil society organizations. Together with the country director, he/she will be key to ensure the long term development of the organization in China.

Main responsibilities:
-Support to implement the country strategic plan and operation department
-Lead and coordinate in project planning, project’s activities monitoring and partnership management
-Human resources and financial management
-Develop donor proposal, report writing and donor communication


-University level degree in development study, project management and international relation or relevant field

-Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position, ideally in an NGO environment

-Experience in programme management (setting up and managing projects, project cycles, logical frameworks) and proposal writing

-Solid experience in team management, planning and Leadership skills
-Good knowledge in English and Chinese language

Conditions, Salary & Benefits: position is based in Handicap International country office in Beijing. Salary and benefits is as per the organization policy. Duration of the contract is initially for 1 year with possible extension.
