Humphrey International Fellow (law/human rights) alumna Thandiwe Matthews contributed to a newly launched children's book series for girls ages 7- to 12 that features South African women whose lead inspiration lives. Her Story: Daughters of Modjadji is the first in the series and focuses on 30 South African women, across generations and from different sectors and spheres of life linked around themes of affirmation, identity and gender.
Ms. Matthews was one of three contributing authors. She is an attorney and Senior Researcher: Civil and Political Rights at the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC).
Ms Matthews completed her Humphrey Fellowship year at the University of Minnesota Law School in 2015-2016.
