Opportunity for students interested in evaluation

The Minnesota Evaluation Association (MNEA) is a local affiliate of the American Evaluation Association that connects Minnesota evaluators with local evaluation skill building events, networking events, and links to evaluation resources, jobs, and RFP opportunities. MNEA's Board of Directors is currently recruiting a student to join the Board as the second student representative for the rest of 2018. This person would assist our current student representative, Kate Diamond, in planning a Fall evaluation event for students. Other responsibilities include attending monthly board meetings, co-planning one or two informal board-led events, and helping with other activities and events as they come up.

We are looking for an undergraduate or graduate student who is local to the Twin Cities area to fill this role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone hoping to gain experience serving on a board, to learn more about evaluation, and to become more connected with the local evaluation community. Ideally, the student representative should be someone interested in pursuing an evaluation career and dedicated to creating networking and professional development opportunities for Minnesota evaluation students and professionals.

Student representatives are non-voting members of the Board. Our monthly meetings occur on Thursdays from 5:00-6:30pm, and rotate between online and in-person meetings at locations around the Twin Cities. The time commitment is approximately 10 hours/month.

If you are interested in this position, please complete the short application form at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RGNCXYR by April 6, 2018. We encourage you to emphasize the following when answering the application’s questions:
  • Demonstrate your interest in pursuing evaluation professionally and mention any steps you’ve taken toward this goal (e.g. classes, internships, professional development)
  • Articulate clear/concrete ways in which you would benefit from this opportunity
  • Articulate strengths or attributes that would be beneficial to the MNEA Board of Directors
