Symposium: Renewing the Gaze: Socio-Historical Approaches to Hispanic Issues

This symposium will address, review and propose new formulations, interdisciplinary approaches, and engagement with the most relevant debates about literature and other aesthetic practices in Latin America and Iberia. 

The presentations will deal with the possibilities of transdisciplinary dialogues, the roles of the humanities and the arts in reframing visions about Hispanic issues in the United States, the status of “Latinamericanism” and “Peninsularism”, and emerging perspectives on cultural and aesthetic practices and understandings.
