Oct 5: Mari Kuraishi- "The power of crowdfunding is in the crowd, not the funding"


IPID’s yearly high-profile speaker event is coming up! Come join the conversation!

Mari Kuraishi is the co-founder and president of GlobalGiving, the world’s first and largest global crowdfunding community for nonprofit organizations. Its operations reach hundreds of countries, connecting development projects to its nearly 500,000 donors.

Mari will share her insights on international development, as well as how GlobalGiving’s unique approach to funding fits into the broader scope of sustainable international development.

About Mari Kuraishi
Kuraishi was named by the Foreign Policy Magazine one of the top 100 Global Thinkers for crowdsourcing worldsaving. She has worked at the World Bank and is currently the President of GlobalGiving. Kuraishi holds a history degree from Harvard University and did graduate work both at her alma mater and Georgetown.
