Main Function:
The Manager of Media & Event take the overall responsibility for WWF branding management and development in China, and the WWF vision/mission/value/conservation concept communication with public, as well as the establishment and exploration of the platform and channels for public to be involved in environmental conservation. Also work together with other departments and programmes on public engagement to achieve the overall goals of conservation in China.
Main responsibilities:
1.Developing the overall strategy of media and events department, including media (traditional and new media) development and relationship management/branding development and management/events and campaigns for big ideas.
a.Brand: Continually evolving and promoting the WWF brand and overseeing its implementation to position WWF as the leading environmental conservation organization rooted in China.
b.Media: keeping a positive profile of WWF in the media and ensuring aligned messaging on national priorities and campaigns. Develop and manage media channels for spread WWF’s voice and ideas. Develop and implement specific new media develop strategy as public engagement platform.
c.Events: Develop and implement strategy for WWF campaigns for big ideas. Coordinate resources to organize big events of WWF China in order to promote branding recognition and conservation awareness.
d.As a main window of WWF, support programme communication to promote and achieve conservation objectives, and involve public in conservation actions.
2.Develop an efficient and measurable work plans and the right tactics that ensure consistent and effective implementation of the strategies, and ensuring that all activities stick to the budget.
3.Develop the measurable and effective monitor and evaluation system for the work plans. And managing the overall implementation process of the communications strategies and plans, driving best practices and ensuring quality deliveries.
4.Building a competent and efficient Media and Events Department with efficient delivery. Fostering teamwork spirit while motivating team members to take initiatives. Making tailored capacity building plans for team members to facilitate career development.
5.Maintaining smooth communication channels with related teams and individuals of WWF Network, and responsible for aligning WWF China’s communications strategies and activities with the Network.
6.Developing and maintaining constructive working relationship with partners, donors, other NGOs, media, agencies, etc.
7.Support the Ex. Director of PED to achieve overall public engagement and conservation goals, via closely and effectively cooperate with other departments within and without PED of WWF China.

1.Report to Executive Director of Public Engagement Division, WWF China;
2.Closely work together with team members and other colleagues of WWF China;
3.Keep smoothly and effective working relationship with WWF Network colleagues;
4.Supervising Media and Events team.

7.Etc.
Requirements:
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience in responsible positions relevant to this post;
•University degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or related fields;
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English;
•Experience in an environmental conservation organization or international NGO with management role is an advantage;
•High level of competence in media liaison and public relations;
•An ability to conceptualize, drive and test new marketing ideas;
•Experience in B2C customer acquisition and retention using direct and e-mail marketing channels as a plus;
•Good organizational skills and proven abilities in administration and management;
•Excellent inter-personal skills, including ability to transfer skills, supervise and network;
•Self-motivated and innovative; able to work under pressure with a team of people and meet deadlines;
•Good current understanding of nature conservation issues and strategies; understanding of WWF’s work in China and globally as a plus;
•Excellent ability to work cross-culturally.
