OneVillage Partners (OVP) is a young, rapidly growing organization working in Sierra Leone, West Africa to inspire and equip rural communities to transform their lives. The full-time Program Director will ensure organizational impact by leading the evolution of OVP’s programming in Sierra Leone. Reporting to the Executive Director, s/he will work closely with the Country Director and all program staff to capture impact, deepen learning, and further develop our model for scale. S/he will not be responsible for program implementation but for building out curricula, program design, processes and evaluation to deepen impact. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative thought leader and technical expert with experience in curriculum development and monitoring and evaluation. The position will be located in the city of Kenema in Eastern Sierra Leone, with frequent travel to program sites in the region. The Program Director will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a new model and work directly with local communities and front-line staff. Over time, s/he may hire on and manage team members as the organization and the position continue to grow.

Responsibilities

· Develop programs and the OVP model for continued effectiveness and future expansion

· Coordinate and maintain a standard of excellence and consistency across all projects. Evaluate program effectiveness and efficiency.

· Develop and/or refine four core curricula for the organization: (1) community mobilization, project planning, implementation, and monitoring, (2) women’s financial literacy and business development, (3) leadership development, and (4) an introduction to participatory international development for donors.

· Take a lead role in strategic planning and organizational development, especially as it relates to our strategy for expansion and replication.

· Build the capacity of local staff. Develop trainings to improve staff performance.

· Stay on top of trends and the latest research and help our team learn from relevant findings. Produce in-house research papers when necessary.

· Prepare program documents to explain our programming to a wide range of stakeholders.

· Prepare grant proposals. Accurately capture program costs.

· Develop in-country partnerships with government and organizations to support programming.
Qualifications

· Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, masters preferred, in a relevant field.

· A passion for community-driven development.

· Deep understanding of adult learning. Excellent facilitation ability.

· Significant experience in curriculum design and development.

· Experience in program design and developing and revising theories of change.

· Knowledge of participatory M&E and experience with its development.

· At least 2 years of experience working in Africa.

· Fluency and excellent writing ability in English.

· Willingness to commit to a 2 year contract living and working in Kenema, Eastern Sierra Leone.
