Summer internship w/stipend opportunities - Feb 26 app deadline

Two great opportunities for funded summer 2016 internships. There are opportunities at every level (undergraduate, graduate and professional).

1. Children of Incarcerated Caregivers (CIC), a Minneapolis-based nonprofit organization dedicated to researching and advocating for policies and programs that improve the lives of children whose primary caregivers are involved with the criminal justice system in the U.S. and abroad, is seeking a team of interdisciplinary students from the University of Minnesota and Macalester College for a paid, two-month summer internship. The team will work under the auspices of the University of Minnesota's Human Rights Program. Graduate/professional students and upper level undergraduates in human rights, public policy, law, psychology, sociology, or other programs related to the issue of children and parental incarceration will be considered. Stipends of $5,500 (graduate/professional student) and $4,000 (undergraduate student) are offered for a 40-week commitment from May 30 - July 29, 2016. Applicants should email a CV and cover letter by February 26, 2016 to Rochelle Hammer, hamm0229@umn.edu. For additional details about CIC, the internship opportunity, and application process, please see attached document.

2. The Human Rights Program in the Institute for Global Studies will award two undergraduate students with a stipend of up to $4,000 to complete a summer internship in human rights. Students should have a summer internship site confirmed and a proposed budget/schedule by the application deadline of February 26, 2016. Form with additional details on info/materials needed to apply is attached.

If you have any questions about either of these opportunities, please contact Rochelle Hammer in the Human Rights Program, University of Minnesota. hamm0229@umn.edu or 612-626-7947
