Fonseca, Hjelseh, Hromoda, & Nelson (MPP '17) Capstone Trip to Namibia

Camila Fonseca Sarmiento, Bettsy Hjelseh, Evan Hromoda, and Rebekah Nelson traveled to Windhoek, Namibia over spring break to evaluate the Namibian Empowerment and Equality for the Deaf through Skills-Transfer, Mentorship, Education & Technical-Training (NEEDS-MET) Program for the Namibian National Association of the Deaf (NNAD). The team conducted interviews with members of the NNAD and other key stakeholders. During their time in Windhoek, the team also collected program documents so that they can conduct a document analysis. Once back in Minnesota, the team will reach out to other stakeholders, send follow up emails if necessary, and transcribe and code the interviews. The final objective for the team is the creation of a report that will be given to various stakeholders of the NEEDS-MET Program.
