MPP Fonseca Sarmiento honored at Mestenhauser Student awards ceremony

Members of the Humphrey community joined the UMN's GPS Alliance and others in honoring winners of the Josef Mestenhauser Student Award for Excellence in Campus Internationalization. This award recognizes outstanding student contributions to international education and acknowledges important work being done by students at the University of Minnesota to internationalize the curriculum and campus.

The Mestenhauser Student Award honors Dr. Josef Mestenhauser, Distinguished International Emeritus Professor, recognizing his long career of advocacy for and commitment to students.

Camila Fonseca Sarmiento is an international student from Colombia, currently completing the second year of the Master in Public Policy at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Before coming to the University of Minnesota, Camila worked for the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC.  She has also been involved academically working with Professor Jerry Zhao on projects with the Volcker Alliance and the City of Saint Paul. The latter in funding the Stormwater Management of the City.
