OneVillage Partners seeking applicants to Young Professionals Advisory Board

Young Professionals Advisory Board

Position Status: Part Time (Unpaid)
Position Type: Volunteer
Location: Minneapolis, MN  http://onevillagepartners.org/get-involved/internships-employment/#8599

Position Description:

Are you looking for an opportunity to build your resume and demonstrate your leadership skills while engaging and networking with like-minded professionals? Are you interested in creating positivity and connectedness with our global community?

OneVillage Partners believes that in order to be sustainable and effective, international development projects must be implemented in collaboration with local communities. Unfortunately, a top-down approach of implementing for people rather than with them is all too common, which is why OneVillage Partners takes a community-led approach to international development. OneVillage Partners seeks young professionals who are passionate about inclusive international development to organize creative ways to engage young professionals in the global community, and to advise OneVillage Partners on marketing channels and messaging to grow awareness of community-led development.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Young Professionals Advisory Board will be asked to:
Meet bimonthly by phone or in person with our Executive Director and other OneVillage Partners staff and/or Board Members.
Play an essential role in the planning and drafting of OneVillage Partners’ next 3-5 year strategic plan.
Create and execute fun, unique events and volunteer opportunities to grow awareness about community-led development and bring like-minded individuals together.
Review current OneVillage Partners marketing materials, including the website, eblasts and printed materials, and provide recommendations for improving reach and effectiveness with young professionals.
Help in growing OneVillage Partners’ social media presence.
Provide feedback on how OneVillage Partners can best utilize the Young Professionals Advisory Board to provide meaningful opportunities to meet its members’ individual interests and professional development goals.

What you’ll get:
Professional, resume-building experience.
The opportunity to network with like-minded professionals in different industries.
Opportunity to engage and network with OneVillage Partners Board of Directors.
Opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills with a growing and innovative nonprofit organization.

How to apply: Please submit your resume and letter outlining your interest, as well as any questions, to apply@onevillagepartners.org by March 31, 2017.

We plan to hold our first meeting in April. We look forward to hearing from you!
