Program Coordinator, Namibia

Job Description:

The purpose of this job is to teach courses and assist in the development and implementation of CGEE academic programs and short-term seminars to Namibia and other areas of southern Africa.

Adjunct Professor Responsibilities include:
Teach 1-2 course(s) per semester and provide necessary planning for courses including developing appropriate bibliography, arranging for speakers, transportation, etc.
Manage course-related expenses and submit monthly financial reports.
Complete evaluation, grading, and administrative tasks related to courses.

Supervision of Internships & Independent Studies include:
Set up internships & independent studies.
Supervise internships & independent studies. Grade students' work, and conduct evaluations.

Short-Term Educational Seminars Responsibilities include:
Design and facilitate short-term educational seminars to Namibia and southern Africa as needed:
Develop and manage trip budget and administrative reporting tasks for each travel seminar
Facilitate group sessions, provide language interpretation, and driving.

Administrative Responsibilities include:
Supervise the maintenance and use of Augsburg College facilities and vehicles in the country.
Supervise support staff members and interns.
Manage financial resources & submit monthly finance reports.
Assist with routine duties related to the maintenance of and overall well-being of the site.

Student Life
Provide advising and counseling to students, information about health and safety issues and refer them to the appropriate services in the event of a crisis.

Master's degree required.
Three years relevant experience required.
General computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web
Experience in trans-formative and experiential education.
Ability to speak bilingually preferred: knowledge or fluency in a Namibian language is helpful (Otjiherero, Oshiwambo, Nama/Damara, Tswana, Afrikaans, etc.)
Ability to drive a 10-15 passenger van to transport students during educational excursions.
