Going abroad for a global health learning experience does not guarantee a successful experience for you or the host community. Success requires strategic planning and preparation. What are some of the things you need to pay attention to? How do you put your plan together and implement it in a way that assures you and your host community can benefit from the experience? This interactive session will provide you with tips and ideas for preparation. You will also have the opportunity to review case studies, discuss, and share ideas that will help you have a successful, enjoyable, safe, and value-added experience.
This session is designed for students at all stages of planning for their global health experience abroad. Faculty and coordinators who advise students traveling internationally are also welcome to attend. Facilitated by Tricia Todd, Assistant Director, Health Careers Center.
