Oct 24-Islamophobia: The Muslim-American Identity

It’s no secret that Islamophobia has become a real issue in our community. Last year’s terror attacks, and the surge of anti-Muslim rhetoric from U.S. politicians (Donald Trump, Dr. Carson, etc.) have raised a lot of questions about Islam and Muslims in America. The Muslim Student Association hopes to address the many questions students and faculty have about Islamophobia on campus. Our special guest speakers are Ilhan Omar (State Representative candidate), Asma Lori Saroya (Council on American-Islamic Relations), Professor Matthew Palombo (Minneapolis Community and Technical College), and Earl Wilson (UMN alumni).
The event will be held on Monday, October 24th from 5:00-8:00pm on the East Bank in the Phillips Wangensteen Building in room 2-470. For more information and directions, follow this link: http://z.umn.edu/islamophobia
