Environmental Policy at the United Nations: Leadership, Careers and Dialogue

Please join us for a conversation and refreshments with Mr. Shaoyi Li, former Head of the Integrated Resource Management Unit, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Mr. Li’s discussion and dialogue will revolve around his former IRP work on how science policy occurs and about careers in the United Nations.

Mr. Li will be available afterwards to talk directly to students and answer further questions.

About the Speaker
Until 2016, Shaoyi Li was head of the Secretariat of the International Resource Panel (IRP), a science-policy expert team engaged in scientific assessment of sustainable use of natural resources from a life-cycle perspective. With the IRP, Mr. Li led the development and implementation of UNEP policy and programmes for resource efficiency and environmental sustainability, and contributed to policy discourse at the global and regional levels on sustainable management of natural resources.
