Dear Friends of the Expo,
We have wonderful news! The US is headed back into the BIE. Today
Congress authorized the U.S. State Department to re-join the Bureau of
International Expositions (BIE)! This removes a huge barrier to our bid
to host EXPO 2023 in Minnesota. We can now turn our full attention to
the global campaign to win the backing of the BIE member countries.
With much of our time over the past year devoted to getting the US back
into the BIE we must now play “catch-up” in the global competition with
Argentina and Poland. To ensure that our proposal makes it into the final round of the BIE competition we need your help. Here’s
a list of the countries that make up the BIE’s Executive Committee.
They will play a crucial role in the advancement of our bid.
- Bangladesh
- China
- Germany
- Iran
- Kazakhstan
- Madagascar
- Morocco
- Republic of Korea (Chair of the Committee)
- Spain
- Turkey
- United Arab Emirates
- Uzbekistan
If
you have any connections or contacts with senior officials, business or
civic leaders, or Americans who happen to be working in or with others
in any of these countries please let us know right away by emailing me
at donaldmarkritchie@gmail.com and destes@tunheim.com. Thank
you again to all who helped to move our bill in Washington. It is great
to be working on an international project that has the active support
of both the former and current President and both sides of the aisle in
Congress.
Warmly,
Mark Ritchie President and CEO Minnesota World’s Fair |
