Job Description:

HealthPartners has an exciting opening for a Program Coordinator in International Development. This position supports the goals and objectives of HealthPartners international development projects. The position includes a range of responsibilities from basic and routine accounting to strengthening and networking health cooperatives with each other and with local and national stakeholders in Uganda. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for administrative, operational, strategic and financial roles, depending upon the experience and skills of the candidate.

-Support health cooperative leaders and local actors to build a network and develop partnerships that meet the needs of cooperative members
-Work with National Health Insurance Scheme leaders and other national stakeholders to ensure the autonomy of self-sustaining, member-owned cooperatives
-Review expense reporting to ensure adherence to policy and compliance with USAID rules and regulations.
-Cross check overseas spending with approved budgets
-Assists with the development of culturally appropriate training plans and tools
-Support development of behavior change communication tools
-Collaborate with leaders to define strategy for sustainability in programming
-Assist with writing reports and work plans; synthesizes information into written reports and updates
-Edit reports, grant applications and presentations
-Assist with technical manual writing and formatting
-When gaps in staff performance exist, provide support to increase capacity
-Communicate project needs, policies and procedures to project staff in other countries
-Coordinate HealthPartners staff support for project interventions; collect time sheets, communicate needs and share results.
-Performs other duties as assigned


-Bachelor’s degree in public health, international development or other related field.
-At least three years of public health, international business or development experience with progressive responsibility
-Proven experience adapting communication to be culturally appropriate
-Ability to adapt based on lessons learned and adjust strategy for improved outcomes
-Strong attention to detail
-Comfortable with a high degree of change
-Ability to learn from technical resource manual
-Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and see activities through to achieve results
