Thursday, September 14, 2017
12:00pm - 1:30pm
Cowles Auditorium
Humphrey School of Public Affairs

America's increasing reliance on social media creates exciting new opportunities in the realm of elections. Facebook's pioneering effort in 2016 to make voter registration easier and more accessible reduced costs for taxpayers and increased citizen engagement in Minnesota. The effort helped Minnesota to regain its #1 ranking in voter turnout. The 2017 Minnesota Election Summit, which serves as the University's 2017 Constitution Day event, brings together Facebook leaders with Secretary of State Steve Simon and others to spotlight the breakthroughs in 2016 and lessons for 2017 and beyond. Light refreshments to follow program.
